What would your group enjoy?
Would you like to take the helm yourselves or relax while a skipper handles the boat? Is sharing a meal the main event, do you need your own waterfront space, or would you like to learn a practical new skill? You do not need to have it all worked out. Explore the options below, select more than one in the form or ask us to help you choose.
Take the helm of a green electric rental boat and explore Rotterdam’s inner harbours at your own pace. You depart from Oude Haven after receiving boating instructions. A free Tourio boating route acts as a digital guide to the area.
Boat hire starts at ninety minutes. Choose a longer trip if you would like more time to explore. For larger groups, we can check whether several boats are available together. The arrangements depend on your date and group composition.
What should you know?
The boating area includes Oude Haven, Wijnhaven, Leuvehaven, Scheepmakershaven, Haringvliet, Boerengat and Buizengat. How much you explore depends on your hire period and conditions. Rental boats must stay off the Maas. Life jackets are available free of charge, and soft drinks can be purchased at the jetty. Online grazing-board packages are not currently offered with boat hire.
Let the skipper take care of the boat while you discover the inner harbours from the water. The open boat tour lasts one hour and operates from April to October, departing from Oude Haven. Hear stories about the surroundings as you cruise. Nuts are included; soft drinks, beer and wine are available to buy separately.
A smaller group can join an available public departure. For exclusive use, a preferred time or a programme built around your day, request a private cruise instead.
Public or private?
Public departures may be shared with other guests and have a maximum of twelve passengers. A private cruise gives your group exclusive boat hire with a skipper. We discuss the duration, route and suitable vessel. The enclosed cruise boat can also be requested for private hire. Departure point, route and capacity are confirmed for the boat selected.
An hour and a half on the Maas at the best moment of the day. You sail beneath the Erasmus Bridge as the skyline lights up around you, with a skipper telling you what you see. The tour uses the enclosed boat, so your group stays warm and dry.
The scheduled evening boat tour runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with an early and a late sailing of an hour and a half each. Departures are from Oude Haven or Leuvehaven, confirmed per sailing. Bookable from November; you can enquire now.
Food and drinks on board?
The scheduled evening boat tour does not serve a meal. Drinks are available on board and nuts and savoury snacks are provided. Would you like to eat on board with your own group? Select “Private cruise with catering”; we will then discuss group size, the arrangement and cruising options. Dietary requirements and allergens are discussed in advance; specific adaptations require confirmation.
On Wijnhaven, the Experience Hub offers a different setting for getting together. You will find it on Ponton 1 at Wijnhaven 63, in the Maritime District. Its waterfront surroundings and urban-farming setup give the space a character of its own.
Use the Hub for a presentation, creative session, team gathering, small reception or personal occasion. The space accommodates up to twelve people and is available on request for a morning, afternoon or evening. Wi-Fi, a screen and a flip chart are included in the hire.
What about refreshments?
Space hire includes a compulsory refreshment arrangement with coffee, tea, soft drinks, nuts and fruit. A premium sandwich lunch and a sharing board can be added. We coordinate the time blocks and catering around your programme and include the details in your proposal.
What makes the setting different?
The Hub connects waterfront life with ideas about the city’s future. You can see how microgreens are grown. A mini museum about the Maritime District’s past, present and future is also being developed here. Its opening date is not yet known, so museum access is not currently a guaranteed part of a group programme.
During the ninety-minute urban farming and microgreens workshop, discover how food can be grown on a small scale. Explore the growing setup, get to know and taste microgreens, and try sowing yourself. It is a practical experience for people curious about food and the future of urban life.
The workshop takes place at the Experience Hub with a maximum of twelve participants per session. Book available individual places or request a private workshop for your group.
What is included?
Guidance, practice materials and one coffee or tea are included. Home growing kits are sold separately. If you would like to add private use of the Hub, lunch or time on the water, select those options in your request. We will check timings and group capacity. Tell us your preferred workshop language so we can confirm what is possible.
Coffee on arrival, lunch together or drinks afterwards: tell us what would work for your group. At the Hub, a premium sandwich lunch and sharing board can be added to the compulsory refreshments for space hire. For a private cruise, drinks, sharing-food and dinner arrangements are available on request. The scheduled evening boat tour does not serve a meal: drinks are available on board and nuts and savoury snacks are provided.
Different catering options apply to different activities. For self-drive boat hire, soft drinks are currently sold at the jetty. Let us know where in the programme you would like to eat or drink so we can suggest an appropriate arrangement.
