TRE Travel & Leisure B.V. · The Rotterdam Experience
Terms & conditions
Version September 2026 · transition period
These terms apply to every reservation with The Rotterdam Experience. Please read them; if you have a question, just e-mail us.
Article 1 · Who we are
TRE Travel & Leisure B.V., trading as The Rotterdam Experience, Van der Hoevenplein 47, 3072 MK Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 42113507, establishment number 000066171210, e-mail info@therotterdamexperience.com. This is our registered and postal address; our experiences depart from Oude Haven and the Experience Hub at Wijnhaven 63.
Important: transition period
At present the general terms and conditions of ervaarrotterdam.nl apply. The Rotterdam Experience is the new name under which we offer the same products: boat rental, boat tours, the Experience Hub and packages. During the transition, bookings and payments still run through ervaarrotterdam.nl and its booking system; payment terms, deposits, cancellation, security deposits and excess are therefore governed by the ervaarrotterdam.nl terms. We will shortly move everything over to The Rotterdam Experience, after which these terms apply in full. In case of conflict, the ervaarrotterdam.nl terms prevail for as long as the transition lasts.
Article 2 · Scope
These terms apply to all offers, reservations and agreements of The Rotterdam Experience: boat rental (self-drive), boat tours with a skipper, the Experience Hub (gatherings and workshops) and packages. For boat rental, the sailing instructions and rental conditions provided at booking and on the jetty also apply.
Article 3 · Enquiries and reservations
An enquiry via the form, e-mail or WhatsApp is not yet a reservation. A reservation is made once we have confirmed it in writing (by e-mail) or once you have completed an online booking through our booking system. Activities marked ‘online booking coming soon’ or ‘on request’ are confirmed only after we have checked availability.
Article 4 · Prices and payment
Prices for consumers include VAT; room hire at the Experience Hub is stated excluding VAT. Online bookings are paid at the time of booking. For packages and private tours you receive a proposal with payment terms; unless agreed otherwise, payment is due in advance. During the transition period, payment terms and deposits are governed by the ervaarrotterdam.nl terms.
Article 5 · Changes and cancellation
During the transition period, cancellation periods and fees per product, and the policy for insufficient participants, are governed by the ervaarrotterdam.nl terms. Requests to change the date or group size can be sent to info@therotterdamexperience.com; we will see what is possible.
Article 6 · Weather, water and safety
Sailing depends on weather, water levels and conditions on the water. The skipper or our jetty staff decide whether, and on which route, we sail. If we cancel for safety reasons, we offer a new date or a refund. On board you follow the skipper’s directions and the safety instructions; children wear a life jacket when instructed.
Article 7 · Boat rental (self-drive)
The renter is responsible for the boat and its passengers during the rental period, sails only within the designated area (the inner harbours; not the Maas) and follows the sailing instructions. Damage caused by careless use may be charged. Security deposit, excess and the maximum number of persons per boat are stated in the ervaarrotterdam.nl rental conditions and on your booking confirmation.
Article 8 · Liability
We are liable for damage that is the direct result of a shortcoming attributable to us, up to the amount of the booking concerned, except in cases of intent or gross negligence. We are not liable for consequential loss, loss of or damage to personal belongings, or damage resulting from failure to follow instructions.
Article 9 · Complaints and applicable law
If you have a complaint, let us know as soon as possible at info@therotterdamexperience.com so we can resolve it. These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in Rotterdam, unless the law provides otherwise.
